Antique Citrine Brooch / Pendant with Scottish  Thistle Flower Design, 14K Gold.

This Citrine Brooch is not only beautiful but has symbolic meaning as well. Featured in the center is a Thistle. They represent courage, endurance and the will to survive. This reminds me of a scene in the movie Braveheart where a young William Wallace gives a young girl a thistle after his mother's funeral. Years later, his soon to be wife presents to him the very thistle that he had given to her when they were children. She had saved it all those years never knowing he would return. 
This brooch can also be worn as a pendant as pictured. There is a bail which can accommodate a thin chain. The Citrine stones are a gorgeous whiskey/ butterscotch color. The 8 stones measure approximately 6mm x 4mm. The thistle flower has a lighter color Citrine that is briolette cut. Made of 14K gold except for the pin needle. Such a lovely vintage piece!
