Whiting and Davis Antique Mesh Metal Purse, Art Deco Chain Mail Evening Bag, Circa. 1920s

A lovely evening bag from the 1920s made of silver or possibly silver plated.

The purse has a frame closure embossed with flowers and the bag portion consists of small metal rings linked together to form a mesh. This mesh is beautifully done, so fine and silky like fabric. At the base of the purse are fine chain dangles. The metal chain handle is original and slides up and done. When the purse is hanging, the chain slides up and acts as a lock closure.

The purse is in very good condition. No tears or holes in the mesh. Snaps closure works well. There is a small blue stone on the ball closure. It has a slight wiggle to it.

Hangs 5.5 inches from the arm

Bag is tarnished, I will not polish it as it is part of it's antique beauty.

So unique and rare in this condition. An amazing collectable piece for the Art Deco lover.
